Adding images via the front-end manager

introduction

FW Grand Gallery front-end manager enhances your Joomla experience by letting you easily manage your galleries via the front-end of your website. In this tutorial, we will learn how to add images to your gallery via the front-end of your Joomla website.

There are available three options for adding images to your gallery:

  • Single image upload. Allows to upload one image at a time.
  • Batch upload. Allows to upload multiple images at a time.
  • Picasa/Facebook images import. Allows to import images from your Picasa/Facebook account.

We will use the following parameters:

  • Select Destination Gallery: My First Gallery
  • Picasa account username: JohnSmith
  • Source Picasa gallery: My Picasa Gallery
  • Target FW Gallery: My First Gallery

We will proceed as follows:

  • Upload images via single image upload.
  • Upload images via batch upload.
  • Import images from your Picasa gallery.
  • Import images from Facebook gallery.

Upload images via single image upload

First, let’s learn how to upload images using single image upload.

  1. Log in to your user account using your credentials.
  2. Locate Images tab
  3. Click New button.

  1. Fill in the fields the same way we did in the Adding images to the gallery tutorial (Single image upload section).
  2. Click Save button. Your screen should look similar to the screenshot below.

Upload images via batch upload

Now, let’s learn how to upload images using batch upload.

  1. Locate Batch Upload tab.
  2. Locate Select Destination Gallery dropdown.
  3. Choose My First Gallery from the list.
  4. Upload files. You can upload files in either if two way:
  • Click Choose files button and select files on your PC.
  • Click Upload button.

or

  • Use drag and drop area.

Your screen should look similar to the screenshot below.

Import images from your Picasa gallery.

Now that you have learned how to upload images via single image upload and batch upload, let’s learn how to import images from your Picasa gallery.

  1. Enable FW Gallery Picasa Import plugin. To learn how to enable FW Gallery Picasa Import plugin, review Picasa import plugin tutorial.
  2. Locate Import tab.
  3. Locate Picasa account username textbox and enter JohnSmith.
  4. Locate Source Picasa gallery dropdown and choose My Picasa Gallery from the list.
  5. Locate Target FW Gallery dropdown and choose My First Gallery from the list. The images will be added to this particular gallery.
  6. Click Import from Picasa button. Your screen should look similar to the screenshot below.

Import images from Facebook gallery

Now, let’s learn how to import images from your Facebook gallery.
