Search plugin configuration and settings

FW Gallery Search plugin allows to search through the content of your gallery website. In this tutorial, we will learn how to configure FW content search plugin.

How to configure FW Gallery Search Plugin

FW content search plugin extends the functionality of the standard Joomla search module. For that reason, to see FW content search plugin in action, you need to enable the standard Joomla search module first.

Let’s enable standard Joomla search.

  1. Locate Extensions dropdown in the top menu of your Joomla control panel and click on it.

  2. Choose Modules menu item from the list and click on it.

  3. Locate Search Box and enter Search into it.

  4. Click Search button with a magnifier icon to find Standard Joomla search module.

  5. Locate the module within the list and enable it if it is needed. Assing a required position to the module and configure it using module settings. To learn how to configure Joomla search module, review Joomla documentation page.

Now, let’s enable FW Gallery Search Plugin. To enable FW Gallery content search plugin, do the following:

  1. Go to the Add-ons section following Components=>FW Gallery=>Add-ons direction.

  1. Find FW Gallery Search Plugin in the list and enable it. Use add-ons filter to filter add-ons by type.

As soon as the plugin and module are activated, you can view the search box on the front-end of your website. Try searching any image name from your galleries to test how it works. Your screen should look similar to the screenshot below:
